Proportionately with the size and complexity of the facilities, the transparency and the possibility to control technical security systems and devices is diminishing, while managing them is becoming increasingly difficult and user unfriendly. This is especially noticeable in the case where several types of systems have been installed: fire alarm, anti-theft alarm, access control, working hour registration, video-surveillance system… even if several central control panel have been installed for the same system due to its extent and complexity.

The graphical control centre GNC Zarja Elektronika allows you to connect different technical security systems of the facility into a single integrated system. All events (alarms, faults, switch-offs, warnings…). are displayed on the PC screen in graphical form (floor plan, axonometric view of the object …) together or separate for each type of event.

This facilitates the work of a security guard or a receptionist, and the overview of individual systems as well as the overall technical security system is much better, which significantly reduces the possibility of human error.

GNC Zarja Elektronika also allows the control of technical security devices using a computer mouse – a click of the mouse on the selected graphical element on the screen can reset the central control panel, turn off the buzzer, switch on / switch off the element (detector), activate / deactivate the output functions, unlock doors, control the video cameras… With the use of Graphical Control Centre (GNC), managing individual central control panels is transparent, simple and user-friendly.

Connections with other devices

The graphical control center GNC Zarja Elektronika is easy to connect, configure and manage. It can be adapted to very different requirements and technical security central control panels, not just to the ones produced by Zarja Elektronika, but also to central control panels of other producers around the world.

The system is connected to the ccentral control panels through a communicator, which adjusts the protocols on the level of hardware, and through software drivers, which allow two-way communication. The main GNC computer (database server) is connected to the workstations through a standard Ethernet TCP / IP network, which may also be connected to the entire computer network of the company through a switcher or a router. GNC allows the connection of a large number of workstations for various users (security guard at the reception, the employee on duty, shift manager, director, fire service…).

Before starting work, each user must log on with his or her password, which assigns the user authorizations on the basis of his or her responsibility and authority. All events in the system (alarms, switch-offs, emergencies, errors, etc.) are safely stored in the file archive server. An operator with special authorisation may at any time review these events by various search and display criteria. Video recordings are also included among archived events.

Simple and clear display

Working with GNC Zarja Elektronika is user-friendly, clear and simple. A selection of different methods allows the user to view an event in the form which is most suitable for the selected event. In graphical displays, the individual elements (detectors, interfaces, executing elements…) are represented with standard signs and their colour changes depending on the situation (alarm, error, switch-off…).

Protocol Mode

The display shows the current event, highlighted in a separate window, in textual form, while the previous events are presented in a table. This method provides a clearer overview in the case of a large number of events. On individual tabs, the events are classified according to the type and time of the event. On the display, you can confirm the event and simply switch to the graphical mode with immediate automatic zoom-in of the element of the most recent event.

Graphical Mode

The emphasis is placed on the graphical presentation of the event and the exact location and description of the element, which caused it. The buttons on the screen allow quick and easy manual zoom-in of the image and movement on the screen in all directions. The drop-down menu at the side of the graphics allows you to quick switch to the display of other floor plans (floors) of the same building or choose the display of another building.

Graphical Protocol Mode

This mode combines the elements of display of both of the above modes and is the most frequently used. The graphical image is slightly smaller and therefore unable to display as much detail as the graphical mode itself, and the same is true for the protocol part. If you need to see all the details of one or the other mode, switching between them is very easy.

Display of Live Video Image

GNC Zarja Elektronika offers a very easy display of CCTV system images. The position and size of each CCTV image on the screen of a workstation can be determined by the operator alone, depending on the current needs. The images can be displayed continuously or can appear only in case of alarms – events. During the parametrization of GNC, it is determined at which alarms (alarms, CCTV system, or even alarms from the connected alarm central control panels) will the individual video images appear as well as how they will appear.

Dual Screen Display

The advantage of each mode is preserved if two separate computer screens are used to display graphics and text messages. This makes the management of the system even simpler and clearer. Using two screens is especially recommended when the user requires permanent image display from a larger number of cameras. What is to be displayed on each screen is chosen during parametrization.

Logging on

Before starting work, the operator must log on with his or her password. The log-on is very simple. The operators can be divided into several groups according to the authorisation granted to them by the service engineer with the highest authority. The authorisation of the responsible person of the technical security system is slightly lower, but he or she can add or delete users with authorisation lower than the one they were granted. The label of the logged-on operator is recorded with each event in the event log.

Manual Navigation with Sliders and Mouse

Graphical elements (floor plan, side view, central control panels, individual detectors,…) are in the system in vector form. This means that the quality of the graphics remains unchanged even at high zoom-in. GNC Zarja Elektronika allows manual navigation (“zoom in”, “zoom out” move left / right or up / down). If the mouse pointer momentarily stops on a certain element, the label of the element (hint) is also shown. Clear drop-down menus allow the selection of individual floors or individual buildings.

Automatic Navigation

The system also allows automatic navigation for elements that are parametrised accordingly. This means that in the case of an alarm of a certain detector, the layout is automatically displayed, the display zooms in to the detector issuing alarm, choosing the zoom-in level which allows the greatest clarity.

Review of Past Events

The period during which the operator reviews events can be easily set to the last 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 hours. The events can be viewed separately, according to their status: unconfirmed, alarm, error, activated elements…

Hiding Elements of Individual Devices

In large systems, the density of elements on floor plans is sometimes too great, which decreases the clarity, which is why the hide/show feature has been added. The drop-down menu displays all the connected central control panels / devices. All the elements of the selected central control panels / device can be hidden or set to reappear with a mouse-click. In the event of an alarm on a hidden device, its elements of course automatically reappear.

Events Archive

The archive stores all the events since the launch of the system. It includes sufficient data for a detailed reconstruction of events, based on the importance of events (alarms). The archive also stores video recordings. Reviewing is possible with the use of various filters, which significantly simplify the job. The details of filters are described at the print-out of events.

Two-Way Communication

The graphical control centre Zarja Elektronika allows full two-way communication with devices. This means that a mouse-click on the element on the GNC screen influences the operation of the device: resetting, sound switch-off, detector switch-off, exit activation…


GNC Zarja Elektronika offers the ability to create any number of messages, which are combined into any number of groups. Any event can be assigned a group. When the event occurs, messages from the group are displayed on the screen to help the operator. Messages can be grouped on a temporal basis, so that, for example, during the night shift different messages are displayed than during the day.

Print-Outs from the Printer

At each event, the printer can automatically print the appropriate instructions for further proceedings, which can also include a graphical display, for example, a path for fire-fighters’ intervention. Like messages, these instructions are prepared and set in advance.

The operator can print a report from the event log after selecting the contents according to its purpose (switched-on filters for events: alarms, errors; switched-on time filters: the period for the display of events; switched-on filters for devices: events only from the fire or only from a certain type of central control panel…). Before the print-out, a preview of the report is shown on the display.

Testing of the System and the Elements

The test mode allows the operator to select any element in the system (device, element connected to the selected device: fire detectors, anti-burglary detectors…) and its status (alarm, fault, switched-off…). After selecting the element and the status, a click of the mouse initiates the testing process. GNC is set in the state it would be in if this were a true event. Test events are not archived.
